Challenging Riddle Nine: A Loooooong Sentence!

Question: The shortest sentence in the English language is “I am”. What is the longest sentence in English?

Hint: This riddles looks simple but it requires advanced knowledge of English vocabulary. Do you really understand every word of the question? After you think about it, look at the bottom of the page for the answer...













Answer: “I do”.

Explanation: If you read Challenging Riddle Number Six, then you know the word "sentence" has another meaning in English. A sentence is the decision of a judge - how many years must a person spend in prison? When you say "I do", it means you are getting married. And just like going to prison, getting married means you have to give up your freedom. In that case, marriage is the longest sentence - your whole life! Got it?
