"Old-Time Movies"
(These videos are best viewed with Internet Explorer.)
Video 24 and
Video 27 featured comedian Bill
Cosby. Here is a very, very young Bill Cosby on TV, I guess in the 1960s. If you have trouble understanding, see
the language notes under the video Enjoy! (^_^)
[Language Notes:
(1) "my mother is 4-1" means his mother is only 4 feet, 1 inch tall (about 1.3 meters); (2) when he pulls The Mummy's
tape, he imagines The Mummy saying "Cut that out!" which means "Stop doing that!"; (3) a "stagecoach" was a way
of travelling 150 years ago - it was like a car pulled by horses; (4) the horses are talking about how they can "loosen
the bolt in the back" so that the horses can go one way and the stagecoach "goes off a cliff" (it falls down the side of
a mountain - it happened in so many old movies! The horses conclude that it is "funnier than heck"!]
